Following her win in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was just 6 years old, Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see what she thought about getting involved in the industry of entertainment. McCormick also starred in a commercial in 1964 for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the main character in The Wind It up and It breaks, a production in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won an audition in 1969 from over more than 1200 children to become the oldest of the three twin daughters in The Brady Bunch TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The show lasted for five years. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in the year 2008. She revealed in it that McCormick was close to losing her virginity while on stage of the show during the fifth season, when she was a victim to Barry Williams. She was just 16 when the incident occurred while he was. It was a time that would have not been ideal for us, she told me.
